My boss told me a story of how she, as a child, would go to the fair and pick up ducks...get the prize and throw it over her shoulder and at the same time extend her hand to her dad and say "another quarter." This would continue until her dad ran out of quarters. He has ever since asked her if she was "still picking up ducks" whenever she had a dream or aspiration.
Well, she has just received a big promotion (yes, her dad said "still picking up ducks?") and, since she shared the story with me a while back, I want to get her a "duck pond duck" for her desk. I haven't made it to our local fair this year to try to buy one from the duck pond there. If any of you have, or know where I might get an old duck pond duck, with the number on the bottom, I would appreciate it if you would e-mail me.
