I too started collecting duckies about 1996.
My first duck was a gift from a clothing rep who had a line of ducky sleepwear. Her showroom display was full of duckies and she gave me one. I took the little guy home and had the thought that having three duckies in my bathroom would certainly be better than one. And so the obssession was born...
I am very selective with my duckies however. I have a couple of rules I follow. They must be yellow though I will accept polkadots or stripes depending. They for the most part should be plain, or unclothed. I do have sailor ducks because well, ducks love water, but I refuse to get into all of the same mold/different hat/theme ducks that are around so much. I also will not buy a celebreduck (though I've been given one as a gift) or rubbaduck (I do have Sitting duck). Call me a duck purist or a duck snob if you will. All I know is when I look at all those smiley yellow duck faces I too get a smile on my face.
> I was wondering, those of you with duck collections (pretty much every one here), how long have you each been collecting? I'll start off: I've been collecting since 1996. :-)
> So take my poll if you want. Sorry for the double posts about ducky buttons.
