thanks for the tips, guys! I called my mom and she suggested rubbing cornstarch over the sticky bits and then washing it off. after doing this a few times, it's almost completely gone. I think I'll have to look for that stuff you mentioned, Charlotte and Susie - I have a few more ducks with sticky junk that just won't come off!
rubber cement thinner... that's a really good idea too. I'll have to track down some of that (shouldn't be too hard, there's a big art college at my university).
