Here's a little trip down memory lane for everyone: a vintage Sesame Street clip for all you rubber duck lovers to enjoy. It seems like almost everyone has heard this song and many people know the refrain: "Rubber Duckie, you're the one! You make bath time so much fun."
 
We'd also like to take this opportunity to correct two common misconceptions:  
* FALSE: rubber ducks started with Sesame Street
* FALSE: Ernie's rubber duck was a floater (i.e. shaped to float in water and to look like a swimming duck).  
 
Now that we have smashed everything that you ever believed in, here is what is true:  
* FACT: Rubber ducks existed long before Sesame Street and Ernie's rubber duck
* FACT: Ernie's rubber duck was NOT a floater. Study the rubber duck in the video closely. Yup, that's right, the duck is a stander (made to stand or sit on a flat surface) and NOT a floater.
